Our Founder
Alejandro Almaguer, a native of Cuba, spent his formative years immersed in the vibrant culture of his homeland, where he studied Economics at the University of Havana. With a passion for exploration and an entrepreneurial spirit, Alejandro embarked on a career in the tourism industry, sharing his perspective on Cuba’s reality with people from around the world.
In 2017, Alejandro relocated to New York, where he now serves as the Executive Director at V.I.P. Tours of New York. Continuing his commitment to delivering outstanding experiences, he pursued a Masters in Tourism and Travel Management from the NYU School of Professional Studies, graduating in 2022.
Driven by a desire to bridge cultures and open minds, Alejandro recently founded Verano Forever Travel. With this new venture, he hopes to share the mystery that is Cuba with a broader audience while fostering lasting connections.
Our Vision
Verano Forever Travel is a reflection of our founder Alejandro’s journey and vision. Inspired by his roots in a small fishing town near Havana, where he once ran a quaint cafeteria he called Verano Forever, Alejandro wanted to create a space where people could always find solace from the heat of the day. Verano, meaning “summer” in Spanish, embodied the eternal warmth and vibrancy of Cuban culture.
When Alejandro envisioned his own travel management company, Verano Forever resonated with him once again. This time, it symbolizes the opposite of escaping the heat; it represents an invitation to leave behind the cold winters of bustling cities and immerse oneself in the warmth of nature and human connection.
Verano Forever Travel was born out of a desire to share the beauty and richness of Cuba with the world, particularly with the LGBTQ+ community and those curious about culture. Our trips offer a deep dive into the history, social fabric, politics, and economics of this captivating island nation. But more than that, they provide an opportunity to connect with our shared humanity and to slow down in a fast-paced world.
